The Eco-Products exhibition is one of the largest environmental exhibitions in Japan, drawing more than 180,000 business people and consumers interested in environmental issues.

CO2 emissions associated with the exhibition will be calculated in four categories (venue, visitors, exhibitors and the main organizer) to produce a quantitative environmental evaluation of the exhibition.

Eco-Products exhibition was launched in 1999 in order to publicize eco-products and to realize an environment-friendly society. Awareness of the global environment, efforts, products and service methods in both society and industry have changed substantially. The scale and business types at the exhibition have also widely expanded. Companies show the innovative technologies and solutions for business, or appeal their products to consumers including children as the future consumers. The national and local governments, NPOs, NGOs, and educational institutes introduce their activities and examples to solve environmental issues.

Japan is now working to reconstruct disaster-stricken areas as a top priority. A decline in the power supply and other consequences of the Great East Japan Earthquake have had a tremendous impact on the Japanese economy and people’s lives, and this event has strongly reaffirmed the social significance that “Eco Products” have.

The organisers believe that we all have a large role to play in showing the innovation of environmental and energy technologies and our lifestyles not only to people in the industrial world where an immediate response to electricity restrictions is required, but also to general consumers and the children who will lead the future, and to encourage people to take action.

Mitsubishi Electric will introduce how it is working to support low-carbon, recycling-based societies in a wide range of businesses in line with its goal of 'becoming a global, leading green company'. The main stage of the Mitsubishi Electric booth (No. 3029, East Hall 3) will present environmental products and initiatives via the company's own large, high-resolution, organic light-emitting display (Diamond Vision OLED), laid out in a dramatic semispherical configuration. Visitors also will be able to tour the booth and learn about the company's many sustainable power-saving solutions.
